Sex Movie Creator Told Chris Noth to Lose Weight

Before Chris Noth was allowed to sign on to play his signature role of “Mr. Big” in the film version of the popular television series “Sex & The City”, the film’s director and creator insisted that he lose some weight, North revealed in an interview on HuffPost Live – The Huffington Post’s streaming network.

The 58-year old Noth admits that Michael Patrick King was not at all pleased that he had developed a middle-age spare tire while filming the original series and told him that he needed to achieve a flatter stomach in order to reprise his role in the film version.

“When we were doing the movie of Sex and the City, [director and creator] Michael Patrick King came up to me and said, ‘Listen dude, we’re not calling you Mr. Big because of the size of your stomach, so go lose that before we start,'” Noth joked.

“I’m like, “really,” he adds as he mimed shovelling food into his mouth.

“Marc replies, ‘I’ve met you about three times and every time you’re eating.”

Noth, who currently portrays the cheating politician spouse on the hit series “The Good Wife”, reveals that he underwent a weight loss regimen in Brazil that included switching to a totally vegetarian diet in order to reduce the amount of calories he was consuming on a daily basis. In addition, he also became more active to boost his metabolism, doing some hiking, some kayaking as well as yoga to lose the excess weight.

Even though Noth doubted that producers would film a second movie sequel to the series after the original film was panned by critics, a second “Sex & the City” movie premiered two years ago and Noth looked trim as “Mr. Big”.
