Celine Dion cancels Las Vegas shows due to sinusitis
Fans looking forward to seeing Canadian superstar Celine Dion perform in Las Vegas this week will have to exchange their tickets for another date.
Dion says she is suffering from a sinus infection and has cancelled a week’s worth of shows at Caesars Palace where she has been a long-time headliner. Representatives for the popular singer said that after recovering from the flu, Dion developed an infection of her sinus cavities known as sinusitis which can be very painful.
Doctors are treating her condition with prescription antibiotics and ordered the star to rest for at least seven days prior to returning to her regular performing schedule. Dion quickly rose to public attention for her heartfelt rendition of “My Heart Will Go On”, the theme song for the Oscar-winning film “Titanic.”
Sources say that Dion has occasionally been plagued with various ailments that have interfered with her professional schedule, but she plans on resuming shows Tuesday, February 26.
Dion began her second residency at The Colosseum in March 2011.
