Cheerleader taken to Hospital during NBA Game
Monday night’s NBA basketball game between the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks in Atlanta was delayed following an accident that left a cheerleader requiring hospital treatment.
A member of the Hawks cheer squad named only as Kristen slipped and fell face first onto the court during a performance between quarters.
After being treated by medical staff at the Hawks arena for suspected injuries to her neck and face the cheerleader was taken to Atlanta Medical Center strapped to a stretcher as a precaution. Initial fears of head and neck injuries proved unfounded and the cheerleader was later released from hospital after being checked by doctor’s.
A long delay occurred between the third and fourth quarters of the game as Kristen, one of a pair of identical twins was treated on the court. The team expressed their concern for the pre-K school teacher during head coach Larry Drew’s post game press conference.
