Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty to Hit and Run

Chris Brown, the 24-year-old singer has plead not guilty to charges stemming from a hit and run in May.

Brown allegedly ran into the rear end of a Mercedes owned by Olga Kovalenko in Los Angeles back in May and left the scene refusing the give the other driver his insurance and license information.

Kovalenko refused to press charges against the popular entertainer.

The singer had been on probation since 2009 for domestic violence charges against his former girlfriend, singer Rhianna.

A petition to revoke Brown’s probation was denied in late May due to the alleged hit and run accident.

Brown made his thoughts public when he tweeted on July 22, “I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run. I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C’mon!!”

Prosecutors dismissed two of the three charges on July 23. Driving without insurance and driving without a license misdemeanors were dropped leaving one charge, leaving the scene of an accident.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos was able to verify for the courts that Brown holds a legal driver’s license in Virginia.

Geragos petitioned the court to drop the case reporting that Brown had made a private settlement with Kovalenko.
