Christian Bale weight gain

Actor Christian Bale is good at what he does and he has always been in fairly good shape until recently.

Bale has put on a considerable amount of weight for his new role where he plays “Melvin Weinberg” who is at the center of an FBI ab-scam sting operation that originally took place back in the 1970’s.

The actor admits that within a few months he put on 60 pounds for his Batman screen test. Bale says he enjoyed putting on the extra pounds by eating many of his favorite foods. Christian Bale claims to have eaten a great deal of pizza and his favorite ice cream.

Bale admits to eating up to five times a day and of course the end result was weight gain. In addition, he admits that he did indulge and ended up overdoing where food is concerned.

The 39-year-old actor says he finds it patronizing when people call his dramatic weight changes a “gimmick.”

Discussing his role as crack-addicted welterweight fight Dicky Eklund in The Fighter he said: ‘To be honest, I find it laughable that it’s considered to be some f****** gimmick – it’s so patronizing.

‘For God’s sake, do people not understand what a pain it is to do?
‘It’s as though it’s some comment about, ‘Oh it’s easy for him, because he’s done it a bunch of times’

‘It’s not easy, it’s not fun – it’s horrible.’

After the current film wraps up Christian Bale may have to shed those extra pounds. Bale has agreed to play Moses in his next film which is a Ridley Scott epic. Bale should have plenty of time to slim down before the shooting of his next film begins. I guess this means no more pizza and ice cream, at least for a while.
