Coffee Drinkers Choose Baby Name at Starbucks

Starbucks Customers Pick Baby Name

After two Connecticut residents couldn’t decide on a baby name for their unborn son that is due this September, they decided to ask customers of one of the shops in the popular coffee shop chain for help.

After considering many name, 25-year-old Jennifer James and 24-year-old Mark Dixon narrowed their decision on their own to two. At first, Dixon wanted “Logan” and then he switched “Jaxon” as a mix of his name and “Jackson.” James liked “Jackson,” but felt it was too much like Dixon’s name and considered “Logan” a wonderful option.

After the two couldn’t agree on “Jackson” or “Logan,” they installed signs and a ballot box made out of a coffee cup at a local New Haven Starbucks where they’re frequent customers asking other customers to pick.

The poll ran generated more than 1,800 responses with many customers selecting one or the other, or responding with write-in names or “Neither” as options.

In the end, several hundred New Haven Starbucks’ customers chose “Logan” as the name.

To celebrate the event, James and Dixon have used a scrapbook to preserve the voting slips and newspaper articles about their unique way of solving this dilemma.
