Couple Zip-Lines Down Aisle, Become Temporarily Stuck

One would think that zip-lining down the aisle would actually be faster than the traditional walk down the aisle.

That was not the case for an Asheville, North Carolina couple, whose zip-line malfunctioned near the end of their ride. The couple was stuck for a few tense moments, but worked together using their hands to reach the end.

Lauren and Ben Youngkin could not pass up the opportunity to use the zip-line to “walk down the aisle” when they saw it as an option at their wedding venue. Wearing rainbow socks and sneakers underneath her wedding dress, Lauren was the first to become stuck, but her soon-to-be husband would not allow her to suffer alone. Ben stopped himself so he could help Lauren down the aisle.

According to Lauren, the idea to use the zip-line was intended to increase the enjoyment of the guests while adding an extra thrill to the couple’s wedding day. “We wanted to make it the most fun for our guests, and fun for ourselves.”

The ceremony was conducted outdoors and did not suffer any further delays after the zip-line mishap. The couple did not seem to regret the decision, with Ben stating, “It was perfect, it was perfect.”
