Crazy diet? Beauty queen from Venexuela has mesh sewn on tongue: VIDEO
How far would you go to be beautiful? In a horrifying new trend, the previous year’s first runner up to Miss Venezuela 2013 has started a terrifying new diet. In order to stay skinny, Wi May Nava sewed a small plastic mesh patch onto her tongue. New York Daily News reports that Nava believes it ‘makes her lose weight quicker’ as she is unable to consume solid foods. In the interview given to Billie JD Porter, Nava reveals that ‘You eat the same, but liquefied.’ as anything other than liquids causes great pain. The New York Post goes on to say that the patron of this new diet trend is the president of the Miss Venezuela Pageant, Osmel Sousa, who delivered this brutal advice to Nava, as well as several other aspiring pageant contestants.
The runner up herself has had more than $11,000 in cosmetic surgery to make her a pageant contestant. This includes operations on her nose and breast augmentations as well as the procedure to sew mesh onto her tongue. Coming from the poor neighborhood of Caracas, where her family runs a small shop, Nava believes that winning the Miss Venezuela pageant will allow her family to leave the dangerous area. ‘I wasn’t people to know that people from the slums can succeed,’ she said.
