Hasselhoff sings to save the Berlin Wall

David Hasselhoff is using his undoubted popularity in Germany to help a campaign to save one of the remaining portions of the Berlin Wall from being torn down to make way for a proposed housing development.

The former Baywatch and Knight Rider star sang from a van as he supported the campaign to preserve what is left of the Wall as a historical artefact; thousands of people watched his performance on the site of the proposed housing development, which brought comparison’s with his new Year’s Eve 1989 performance on the Wall.

The 60y ear old star has enjoyed a successful singing career in Germany since the 1980s and is using his fame in the country to help preserve the crumbling Berlin Wall his song Looking For Freedom helped bring down. Hasselhoff stated his children had spent time walking along the wall and learned a lot of history from the people they met along the way.
