Two Wrongs Does Not Make a Murder Legal in Brazil
Octavio da Silva Catanhede Jordan lost his life and his head to a very atrocious crowd during a soccer game in Brazil.

The decapitated of Referee took place after the local amateur referee repeatedly stabbed a soccer player after he angrily challenged Jordan’s ruling to remove him from the soccer field.

Josenir dos Santos was stabbed multiple times by Jordan with a small pocket knife he had with him at the soccer event. Octavio da Silva Catanhede Jordan’s violent actions led to the death of soccer player Josenir dos Santos. This enraged crowd had a very mean and atrocious streak. This group bonded together and tore the amateur referee’s body limb from limb. The angry mob then decapitated Jordan and placed his head on a stick in front of the horrified onlookers that were watching this sporting event. The decapitation was to simulate some “Soccer Vengeance.”

The Chief of Police, Maranhao Valter Costa, stated that they would find those that participated in this horrific and gruesome murderous event and hold them all accountable for their actions in accordance to the law in Brazil. Two legal wrongs do not make crime legal in Brazil.

Police in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil said angry soccer fans took the life of a referee after the official stabbed a player during an on-field altercation. The incident took place at a match held last weekend, reports USA Today.

The Maranhao State Department of Public Safety has determined the trouble began when the referee, Otavio da Silva, disqualified and ejected Josenir Abreu from the match. The two men then got in a physical fight on the pitch, which ended when de Silva stabbed Abreu, who died before reaching a local hospital.

After the stabbing, a group of Abreu’s friends and relatives rushed onto the field and began attacking de Silva with stones, eventually killing him. The group then dismembered de Silva’s body and placed his head on a stake at the center of the pitch.

Maranhão Valter Costa, the Chief of Police in Santa Ines, in the north of Brazil where the incident occurred said that suspects were being questioned in the lynching:

“Reports of witnesses have indicated some people that were in place at the time of the fact. We will identify and hold accountable all those involved. A crime will never justify another. Actions like this do not collaborate with the legality of a state law.”

According to the Guardian, Brazil faces mounting pressure to show it is a safe place for tourists before 12 cities host the 2014 World Cup and Rio de Janeiro the Olympics in 2016. The Confederations Cup in June was marked by violence as anti-government protestors angered by the amount of money being spent on the events clashed with police.

The horrifying incident comes only weeks after a teenaged Utah soccer player punched and injured a referee who had penalized him during a match. The 46-year-old official, Richard Portillio, died May 5 after a seven-day coma. The unnamed player, 17, is in jail on $100,000 bond and may be tried as an adult.

Police have only one suspect in custody in the Sao Paulo crime.
