Demi Moore Files Divorce Papers

On March 6, 50-year-old actress Demi Moore filed divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court after failing to reach a confidential financial settlement with her husband, 35-year-old actor Ashton Kutcher.

Moore’s and Kutcher’s six-year marriage ended in separation in 2011 after reports circulated that Kutcher had an affair with a much younger woman on the anniversary of his marriage to Moore.

Kutcher filed divorce papers in December 2012 citing “irreconcilable differences,” but he and Moore have been attempting an out-of-court settlement since.

A source close to the situation told The New York Post that Kutcher has acted hostile toward Moore during talks and that Moore finally “had enough.” The source also claims that Moore feels Kutcher achieved her level of fame through his association to her and owes her more than he’s offering.

“Ashton made a lot of money after marrying Demi — a lot more than she made — but despite him becoming just as famous through her, he believes he doesn’t owe her that much,” the source said, emphasizing that Moore is fed up.

The next step to resolving the matter will likely be divorce court.
