Oklahoma City Welcome Derek Fisher Once Again

Longtime Laker Derek Fisher returns to the Oklahoma City Thunder once again, filling the open point guard slot left vacant by Eric Maynor’s recent departure to Portland. Fisher ended the season with the Thunder last year, logging 20 games in the regular season, as well as 20 more games in the playoffs, helping advance the Thunder to the NBA Finals.

Fisher is a seasoned veteran with five NBA Championship rings under his belt – all with the Los Angeles Lakers. His experience brings added depth and stability to the point guard position, especially in the event the Thunder make the playoffs again this season.

The 38-year-old was traded to the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season before requesting his release in December, which was granted. His current journey to Oklahoma City is reminiscent of last season when he made a brief stop in Houston before joining the Thunder for the last stretch of the season.
