Drunken Woman Kills Friend For Sandwiches

An episode of drinking between two women in St. Petersburg, Russia turned deadly when one woman stabbed the other in a dispute over who should make the sandwiches. Natalya Patrina and an unidentified friend had already been drinking heavily when Patrina decided that the pair needed something to eat. She began slicing a loaf of bread as well as cutting pieces of cheese to assemble the sandwiches when her friend became argumentative and insisted that she wanted to be the one to prepare the snacks for both of them.

When her friend tried to grab the knife away from Patrina and began grabbing at her clothing in order to push her away from the kitchen table, Patrina lost control of her temper. She thrust the knife into her friend’s chest, a wound which proved fatal. Her friend was transported to a local hospital for emergency services, but died anyway. According to the prosecutor’s office in St. Petersburg, Patrina has been arrested and charged with her friend’s murder. It is not known if the two women were regular drinking buddies or how long they had been friends. Police officials also have not reported if Patrina already has a criminal record.
