Phil Robertson and family of “Duck Dynasty” fame have formed a partnership with the Mossberg firearm manufacturing company to produce a new line of guns marketed under the family’s brand.
The announcement of the new gun product line comes fast on the heels of a controversy that led to A & E’s suspension of Robertson from his own show following comments he made in Esquire Magazine they deemed unacceptable, only to reverse their decision after a huge protest by loyal fans. During 2013, the Robertson Duck Dynasty brand raked in almost $400 million in sales of products branded with the Robertson family’s images and camouflage pattern.
A & E was not part of the gun deal which was done directly between Robertson and Mossberg with the need for any licensing fees to other parties.
According to Buisness Insider, the launch commercial has actually been online since mid-November and three others were uploaded in December.

Phil Robertson and family members are not novices when it comes to marketing duck related projects, which they have been doing through their own company, Duck Commander, since the early 1970s, including such products as hand-carved duck calls.
A family spokesperson said that all the controversy surrounding A & E’s suspension of patriarch Phil actually doubled their company’s duck call sales in 2013, reaching a record one million.
