Evan Rachel Wood Speaks on Her Bisexuality

Evan Rachel Wood spoke with the liberal blog site “The Daily Beast” in regards to her public announcement of being bi-sexual.

The 25-year-old star of such movies/series such as “Little Secrets”, “True Blood” and “Mildred Pierce” says she timed her announcement for the right moment.

Wood is quite the confident person both in her personal and professional life and wanted to make sure that her sexuality would be properly understood. Wood was quite clear that she didn’t want her sexuality to be viewed as a passing phase nor a grab for media attention.

Instead, the North Carolina native wanted people to understand who she really is. Wood joins a small list of openly bisexual actresses such as Megan Fox and Anna Paquin.

“I wanted to wait … to have enough years under my belt where people knew that it wasn’t a phase or anything and I wasn’t doing it for attention; this is a part of who I am, and I’m old enough to really know who I am by now,” she said.

For her part, Wood married English actor Jamie Bell in 2012 and is expecting her first child.

She admits that she does encounter hatred from people because of her sexuality, but she chooses to deal with it by educating people. Wood also admitted she considers herself to be “a little weird” and subsequently chooses acting roles that are “not the norm”. Wood also chooses those roles which she believes will prevent her from getting typecast.
