Fidel Castro Tells North Korea To Chill

Fidel Castro Reminds North Korea Nuclear War Benefits No One

Fidel Castro has tenderly admonished the brash and bellicose North Korean government to soften it’s stand on nuclear war for the sake of all man-kind.

“Now that you have demonstrated your technical and scientific advances, we remind you of your duty to the countries that have been your great friends, and it would not be fair to forget that such a war would affect … more than 70% of the planet’s population,” he said.

Perhaps such gentle words from the man at the center of what might have been the world’s first nuclear war may have some positive effect on North Korea.

Castro made the comments in a column he published in Cuba’s Communist Party Daily. Perhaps the best description he could use for North Korea is to put an end to it’s “berrinche” (Spanish for a temper tantrum).

Castro praised North Korea for their display of technological advances in missile technology and in the development of nuclear weaponry and then went on to encourage them to consider that 70% of the world’s population would be affected by a nuclear war.

Castro then went on to chastise President Obama reminding him that he too shares an obligation to prevent war. Most analysts believe that North Korea’s behavior is stemming from a need that Kim Jong-Un, their 29 or 30 year old dictator, has to solidify his image as a strong leader on the world stage. It’s also believed he is making threats of war to extract concessions from South Korea and the United States.
