Frankie Muniz, who rose to fame as the star of “Malcolm in the Middle,” has suffered his second stroke at the age of twenty-seven. He revealed the scare on Twitter on Monday, expressing also that he felt miserable. Muniz gave up acting in 2008 to pursue becoming a race car driver, but he currently plays drums in the band You Hang Up and previously drummed in the band Kingsfoil.

“Almost a year to the day, I experienced another mini stroke,” the actor wrote. “Hopefully that will be the last. Miserable.”

His first stroke came almost a year to the day before the second one. After his first stroke he had been in good spirits and joked about “getting old” according to E! News Online. Both of Muniz’s strokes have been categorized as mini-strokes and not major ones, but they are still a concern.

Strokes are causes by lapses in blood flow to the brain. They are rare in young people like Muniz. He says that he has been living a healthy lifestyle since the first stroke and has been completely drug and alcohol-free. When he experienced his first stroke he had been talking to his fiancée, Elycia Marie Turnbow, and he could suddenly no longer form words properly, which is a common symptom. He talked candidly about it on “Good Morning America.”
