Gal Gadot Cast As The New Wonder Woman
Comic book fan boys received the announcement this week that they had been waiting for when it was revealed who would adorn the tights, cinch up the lasso, and step behind the wheel of the invisible airplane to portray Wonder Woman in the soon to be made big budget super hero flick Batman vs Superman. Stunning brunette actress Gal Gadot was announced as the new Wonder Woman. Gadot is a stunning Israeli army veteran and former Ms. Israel that may be most memorable to film audiences for her roles in three of the six Fast and the Furious movies.
Batman vs Superman will act as a sort of sequel to Man of Steel. The movie will also star Ben Affleck has Batman with Henry Cavill returning as Superman alongside Gadot as the Amazonian Princess.
Despite a plethora of comic book hero films that have been released over the past decade or so, for some reason studios have dragged their feet in putting the most popular and successful female heroine onto the big screen. Wonder Woman’s red white and blue bustier had been filled in previous television incarnations by Lynda Carter in the late 1970’s television series and Cathy Lee Crosby in an ill-fated television movie but the role has remained strictly an animated one ever since.
