Geico’s latest commercial which features a camel gingerly strolling through an office workplace with their two tag men stating that switching to the auto insurer would make a person as happy as a camel on “hump day” (Wednesday) has rubbed teachers the wrong way at Vernon Center Middle School in Connecticut.

More specifically, the middle schoolers have begun to revile their teachers with their constant use of the term “hump day” which their instructors insists the students are using for any day in addition to Wednesday. Word to wise: giving such negative feedback to attention-hungry middle schoolers usually emboldens them.

At any rate, the educators are the school want to squash the problem of improper use of “hump day” before it takes on a life of its own; it’s word to the wise time again. It’s reported that some students were sent to the principal’s office for bothersome “hump day” use. One parent opined that if the children would simply stick to using the phrase as a strict reference to Wednesday, there would be no problem, but isn’t that kind of the point? There were rumors that the school had issued a ban on the phrase but that was proven false.
