One Direction’s Harry Style Ditches Trademark Curly Mop

19-year-old Harry Styles of the boy band “One Direction” has finally decided to ditch his signature fluff or mop of curly hair, but the change isn’t permanent.

The young man from Holmes Chapel, England, merely changed his hair style for the band’s new video “Best Song Ever”. Whether the song lives up to its title is another question, but Styles does put on retro 60s clothing, big rimmed black eye glasses, and a wet-styled hairdo to complete a nerd look. The transformation was successful as Styles was not recognizable from his usual look. The singer even added a wide toothy smile to his nerd-look which is also a departure from his usual cool demure. Another band member, Liam Payne plays a choreographer in the video. Payne dawned a blonde wig and pink head band for the part.

The look Payne takes is decidedly effeminate especially compared to his usually grin-less bad boy pout. Payne teased fans by tweeting that he decided to keep wearing the pink headband.

Niall Horan plays a middle-aged business man in a stylish blue pinstripe suit and low-cut beard replete with a mixture of blonde and white hair. His face was given the faint spotting and wrinkling concomitant with men in their 40s. A trailer for the video will be released shortly.
