Heidi Klums nude Project Runway billboard banned
40-year-old supermodel & television personality Heidi Klum is learning what the limits are to art in her latest billboard ad for her popular reality TV show “Project Runway”.
The show is the “America’s Next Top Model” for aspiring fashion designers and has for eleven seasons since its inception in 2004.
Klum’s ad was to generate buzz ahead of the show’s twelfth season set to kick off this July 18. However, the billboard ad has been banned as it was too sexually explicit, reports the Daily Mail.
The ad features Klum dressed in a golden gown and headdress looking like Marie Antoinette. Her throne is gold amid a lavish decor through the scene.
So far so good. However, it the nine nude models spread about around her that prevented the billboard from being posted. It should be noted that all the models where placed so as not to reveal any private parts of their bodies. Nevertheless, Klum will need to ensure that the models are dressed in underwear if this particular ad is to ever see the light of day.
According to TooFab, an alternative version showing the models in underwear will be released in its place.
New York City, however, is allowing the naked ad to run as is.
The underwear can be added to the existing photograph via electronic means. The show’s presenter, Tim Gunn, defended Klum’s original photograph; he is featured to her right in the ad.
Klum posed nude herself for Allure magazine just last year.
