Hiccup girl on trial for murder
Hiccup girl on trial
On Tuesday, Jennifer Mee, 22, of Fla., began her court trial on first-degree murder charges. Mee, who gained fame as a teenager for her commercials about her Tourette’s Syndrome, is facing a life sentence if convicted. In her commercials, she also had showed a rare case of an uncontrollable hiccup problem that she had. At times, she was reported to hiccup up to 50 times per hour.
Mee, is being charged with the murder of 22 year old Shanon Griffin. They didn’t know each other well as they had barley met on a social networking website less than a week before the incident happened. They had agreed to meet for a marijuana transaction, but little did Griffin know that he was being set up to be robbed at gunpoint by LaRon Raiford and Mee’s boyfriend, Lamont Newton.
The robbery went bad as Griffin struggled with the suspects. The gun ended up going off, and Griffin was killed. Raiford has since been convicted to life in prison. Newton still awaits his trial. The issue at hand in Mee’s case is whether she planned everything, or if she was just an innocent bystander. The trial should be finished by Friday.
