Bulk of Gandolfini Estate Willed to Teenage Son

Actor James Gandolfini of “The Sopranos” television series fame, who died unexpectedly at the age of 51 while on a trip to Italy last week, left the bulk of his sizeable estate to his 14-year old son, Michael.

Gandolfini’s estate was estimated to be around $70 million. His 8-month old daughter with his second wife Deborah Lin is also named in his will and set to receive money from a trust fund once she reaches the age of 25. Gandolfini also willed all of his jewelry and wardrobe to his son, along with a $7 million life insurance policy. His widow receives the rest of his tangible property.

Gandolfini’s children will also inherit property holdings that the actor held in Italy, where he was set to receive a film award before unexpectedly passing away in his hotel room due to a heart attack.

His will also left generous amounts of funds to other family members. These include half a million dollars to each of his two nieces, and $200,000 to his personal assistant as well as another friend. Two other friends are named in the will for $50,000 bequests, along with a godson who will receive $100,000.
