Jamie Dornan Now ’50 Shades of Grey’ Frontrunner?

After Charlie Hunnam backed out of the lead role in the much anticipated film adaptation of ’50 Shades of Grey’ the spotlight has fallen on British actor Jamie Dornan. Thirty-one year old Dornan is one of the fan favorites for the role of Christian Grey. Universal Pictures and Focus Features also have their eyes on him.

According to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ another British actor, Christian Cooke, is also being considered along with ‘True Blood’ star Alexander Skarsgard. Dornan is a former Calvin Klein model and he is also known for having dated Kiera Knightly. Presently he is the star of ‘The Fall’ on British television and is known for his role as Sheriff Graham on the ABC series ‘Once Upon a Time.’ There is one factor that can interfere with Dornan and the coveted role – his wife, Amelia Warner, is currently pregnant.

Filming was set to start on November 1. Hunnam left the project because he wanted more creative control and this may set things back for the movie. The studio still believes the film will be set for release in August 2014. Dakota Johnson is still planning to play the role of Anastasia Steele, but sources are saying she is uncomfortable with the attention.
