Michael Bay attacked on set of Transformers
Michael Bay Attacked in Hong Kong
As of right now, Michael Bay is in Hong Kong working on filming yet another Transformers movie – the fourth in the series. All films tend to have problems that crop up every once in a while in regards to their production, but it’s hard to fathom something like what happened to Mr. Bay.
While in the process of filming, two brothers who happen to own a store located adjacent to where the movie set was approached him and, after roughing up the set a bit, demanded that he pay them somewhere around $13,000 in what basically amounted to extortion money. Of course, Bay refused to bay this exorbitant fee, which seemed to anger the men who proceeded to attack him, injuring him and three police officers.
Of course, people trying to extort money out of Hollywood productions that are filming on location has been a problem in the past – but in the past few years studios have been careful to be sure that local residents are properly compensated for the use of the area around their homes and business. Apparently, these brothers simply did not think that compensation was enough money, and took to assaulting directors.
