Actress Jessica Szohr Admits to Pole-Dancing to Get in Shape for Film

Actress Jessica Szohr formerly of the hit show “Gossip Girl” reports that she actually took a pole dancing lesson to get toned up for her role in the newly released comedy “The Internship” starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.

In the film, Szohr plays the character Marielena who in once scene struts her stuff in her underclothes before a crowd of hundreds showing everyone what she’s working with.

Szohr, who comes from a small town in Wisconsin, felt that she needed to be in top form for the scene and took a class in pole dancing a fortnight before filming. Szohr described the workout as being “insane” and walked away with a new found respect for strippers in general. In her movie scene, Szohr performs the exotic dance before both Vaughn and Wilson. The film “The Internship” features Vaughn and Wilson in their efforts to land work at famed internet giant Google Inc.

The movie is in theaters now, but unfortunately, it has become one of the first big summer bombs on the season grossing just over six million thus far on a budget of $58 million. Overall reviews for the film have been poor, but audiences who have seen the film have approved of it.
