Joe Torre’s Daughter Makes a Big Catch of Her Own
Legendary baseball great Joe Torre is known for his prowess on the baseball diamond. He was a nine-time All Star, playing catcher, first base, and third base for a number of major league teams. He also went on to great success as the manager of the New York Yankees for over a decade.
However, it is his daughter who has made a splash in the headlines recently for a heroic catch of her own! Cristina Torre, 44, was quietly enjoying a morning cup of coffee at Brooklyn’s Little Cupcake Bake Shop on Third Ave. when a number of bystanders started motioning towards something overhead. What people were horrified to see was a one-year old baby who had climbed out of a building window and was moments away from falling from an awning.
Luckily, high stake catches are in her blood and Cristina was able to catch the baby as it fell.
Joe Torre isn’t the only one in his family who knows how to make a big catch. Because of this miraculous maneuver, the baby suffered only minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery at a nearby hospital. The parents of the child, however, may not make it through unscathed as they are expected to be charged with neglect and child endangerment, according to some sources.
