Judge Judy’s son Involved With Lawsuit With Local Sheriff
Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy, son of Judge Judy, is suing Putnam County Sheriff Donald Smith for ‘political gamesmanship’ involving Levy’s personal trainer, who is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.
The television show host “Judge Judy” son is Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy. He is currently suing the local Sheriff Donald Smith for $5 million. Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy claims that Sheriff Donald Smith defamed him with false and malicious statements about a child rape case.
The sheriff denies the accusation and claims that Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy is only trying to hurt his reelection campaign.
Sheriff Smith said: “He is apparently trying to influence and affect the investigation, which could be perceived as an ethical violation of his official duties and perhaps even as an attempt to undermine it. My office acted properly in every aspect of the investigation.”

The lawsuit accusations are from the arrest in March of Alexandru Hossu who was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl who Adam Levy represents.
Donald Smith said Levy was “improperly involved in the case and apparently trying to influence it.” The accusation stems from the fact that Alexandru Hossu was Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy’s personal trainer as well as close friend. Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy said in March that he took the case for Alexandru Hossu as soon as he learned that Alexandru Hossu was under investigation.
Judy Sheindlin, also known as “Judge Judy”, issued a statement: “Adam Levy is a principled, honorable and dedicated public servant. When someone attacks his character professionally or personally, they best be prepared to back it up. Shut up, or pay up.”
