Katy Perry Called ‘Devil Child’ By Pops
Katy Perry Labeled Devil Child by her Preacher Father
Katy Perry’s father, Keith Perry, is a Preacher. He has referred to her as being a devil child in several sermons. Apparently watching her performances makes the Preacher cry. He finds it Hellish that people are watching her instead of worshiping God. As Keith and his wife, Mary, travel the country speaking in churches, they show a video of Katy. They’re asking church goers to pray for Katy because she is in need of healing, in their own words.
Perry’s parents are uncomfortable with the fact that she has a song that speaks of kissing another girl. It is un-Godly in their eyes. To them, it is the devil’s work and hurts them so deeply that they sob over her behavior.
The Sun says at a service in Sante Fe Springs, Keith was reported as saying, “They ask how can I preach if I produce a girl who sang about kissing another girl?”
“I was at a concert of Katy’s where there were 20,000. I’m watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church. I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping. They’re loving and worshipping the wrong thing.”
The couple specifically asks each congregation that they visit to ‘Pray for Katy’. It is almost like they are trying to sabotage the lucrative career that their daughter has worked hard to get because she is not just like them.
The Christian couple is very seldom photographed with their daughter. The do appear with her from time-to-time but many believe it is just for media exposure and not to support the achievements that Katy receives.
