Late Season Winter Storm Warning For Parts Of Ontario, Quebec

Quebec and Ontario Get No Respite from Winter Snow Storms

While a deeply agreeable warmth of sunlight illuminates much of the southern United States, Quebec and Ontario are feeling the wrath of Mother Nature’s fierce winter storms. Southern Quebec and Southern Ontario are experiencing rapidly changing weather which for now is keeping their snow plows busy trying to clear highways and interstates for travel.

An intensifying low pressure from Kansas is forecast to track south of the Lower Great Lakes on Wednesday. Precipitation in the form of rain or wet snow as well as a risk of freezing rain is expected across portions of Southwestern Ontario and Niagara overnight, followed by a quick changeover to snow towards morning. The snow will quickly become heavy at times and continue east into the Kingston to Cornwall region through Wednesday with total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm expected by Wednesday night.

Some nice weather has reached parts of these two key provinces, but there is still plenty of winter to dread before spring finally prevails and the cold winter becomes a distant memory. Most agree that if spring-like weather arrives, people should make the most of it while still keeping their winter clothes handy.

A late winter snow storm will be passing through Eastern Canada over the next few days and it promises to bring snow with it by Wednesday across parts of these two provinces. Morning commuters should have an easy go of things on their drive to work, but once the snows arrive by late morning, it will persist through the next 24 hours. Drivers should prepare for a difficult commute home. The afternoon temperature is expected to drop to -10 C (14 F). Overnight, temperatures will drop to as low as -30 C (-22 F).
