Letterman Guest Now Un-Banned

David Letterman has been doing a late night television show for over 30 years and during that long of a period of time you are bound to make some enemies. Over the years he has had different types of celebrity feuds with stars as big as Oprah Winfrey, Sara Palin, and Jay Leno and small timers like Crispin Glover, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and baseball pitcher Terry Forster. Recently on a recent episode of “The Late Show with David Letterman”, another feud was brought to light by guest James Franco.

Franco was on the show to promote his new film “Spring Breakers” in which Franco co-stars with Selena Gomez. The actor brought up the fact that “Spring Breakers” director Harmony Korine is banned from appearing on “The Late Show” and point blankly asked Letterman why that was the case.

To his credit, the veteran host was unflappable and gathered what Franco had heard
before explaining that Korine had been a guest on the show about ten years ago. Prior to taping, Letterman had attempted to visit the dressing room of another guest, Meryl Streep. When he entered her dressing room he found Korine rummaging through Streep’s purse. Letterman explained the Korine had clearly been “on something” and that his life appeared to be going off the rails.

Franco defended Korine and may have ended the feud when he promised letterman that Korine was now clean. Letterman relented and told Franco that the director would be welcomed back onto the show.
