Man disguises turtle as burger, takes it on flight

It should be noted that the photograph associated with this story in no way has any bearing on the actual turtle involved. Its pet owner did not somehow sandwich a burger patty, slices of cheese, lettuce and tomato inside the turtle’s shell as some sort of hard bun.
However, a man identified as “Mr. Li” did try and make his way through airport security with his pet turtle at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in China where he hoped to arrive at Beijing aboard flight 345 of China Southern Airlines this past Monday. Airport security noticed something odd about the quadratic nature of his sandwich wrapped inside a KFC wrapper.
Suspecting that it was a turtle, they questioned Mr. Li who was adamant it was just a burger.
However, upon close inspection they uncovered that it was in fact a living turtle. Mr. Li is quite fond of his pet and wanted to take it with him on his trip.
The story ended well as Mr. Li was able to hand his pet over to the care of friend at which time he was able to pass security and make his flight. Witnesses on hand described Mr. Li’s treatment of the turtle as affectionate and caring.
