Man dressed as Santa dies in Russia
On Monday, December 23, a Russian man from the city of Yakutsk was purportedly found dead outside a home where a business-related holiday party took place. He was also purportedly found dressed in a Slavic-style Santa Claus or “Father Christmas” costume.
Investigators in the region have learned that a fight broke out between the man and two other men who were guests at the party.
Eventually, the man threatened the other partygoers by brandishing a knife and yelling. The two men, along with the man’s girlfriend, tied his feet and hands with rope and put him outside the house. With the help of the man’s girlfriend, they stopped his angry yelling by tying a scarf across his mouth.
His girlfriend escorted the men out of the house. When she returned to check on her boyfriend’s condition and state of mind, she found him dead.
Investigators do not know yet the exact cause of his death and a full investigation is under way.
Some online accounts claim that the man wasn’t prevented from yelling with a scarf across his mouth, but with tape. These accounts claim that he choked on his vomit as a result.
