A new eco-friendly online clothier and department store called the House of Liv or just Liv, at Liv.co.uk, has taken recycling to a whole new level with the creation of fabric and underwear made of recycled pine tree prunings including needles.
One example: a pair of women’s briefs designed with black french lace contain 96 percent recycled white pine wood fibers and 4 percent spandex.
This new unique fabric was developed by French lingerie designer Sophie Young through her Do You Green company. The materials and underwear are manufactured in France and Tunisia.
The description for a pair of women’s briefs on Liv’s website claims that the underwear has the “coolness of linen,” yet they are “as soft as silk with the feel of cashmere.”
Dawn Foxall at Liv calls the underwear the “pinnacle of French technology” and states that they won’t leave people “pining for [their] old bloomers.” Dawn also stated that fabric is similar to cotton or viscose rayon, which is manufactured from wood cellulose.
Liv features green and environmentally friendly products made of high-quality natural materials. Other items include men’s, women’s and children’s fashions, home linens and decor, and seasonal and holiday items.
