man rode away on bicycle after trying to pay water bill with cocaine
Deltona, FL – In what was likely a first-ever for the local water department, a local man showed up at the customer service window to pay for his water bill. The attendant expected the envelope to contain a cash or a personal check. What the worker noticed instead was white powder.
Perhaps fearing the powder might be Ricin in what would’ve been an act of homegrown terrorism, authorities were alerted and a hazmat team was brought in. They determined that there was no contamination; the powder was cocaine. Apparently, the cyclist thought his account might be settled in kind. He didn’t stick around though. He was literally on his bike once the shortly after the clerk received the envelope from him. Police are now searching for the man.
It should be noted that the unidentified man never spoke to the clerk. It may be that he thought he was making a drop. However, news outlets are spinning the story as a local man snuffing out his water bill with Columbian gold. The clerk has never experienced a patron do something like this. The suspect is said to be wearing shorts and a T-shirt which isn’t a lot for police to go by.
