Mandy Moore exits new comedy
Mandy Moore, cast in ABC’s new comedy, Pulling, is pulling herself out of production entirely.
Moore was among the first actresses cast to play the lead roll of Louise, a 30-something optimistic woman eagerly looking for marriage as part of her life’s plan. As the rest of the cast fell into place, Deadline reports, Moore saw the shift of her character taking a different direction and felt she no longer fit the changes.
“Many things change quickly as a pilot moves into production,” Moore said. “And in this case, Lee and Gene moved the character in a different direction, it was clear this wasn’t right for me. Rather than jeopardize the show, I asked to step aside.”
Leaving on amicable terms, the producers felt, “Mandy is a pro, and has been very patient and accommodating with us.” “She’s an immensely gifted actress and we hope to have the pleasure of working with her again.”
