Matt Damon and wife, Luciana Bozán Barroso mix Christmas traditions
Matt Damon was one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors and had dated English actress Minnie Driver for two years following their starring roles in the film “Good Will Hunting”. However, it wasn’t until he met the stunningly beautiful Argentine, Luciana Bozán Borroso, in Miami that he decided he was ready to settle down. Borroso was working as a bartender at the time.
So how does the cross-cultural family celebrate the Christmas holidays? They do so via a hybrid mix of traditions. The biggest difference is that Argentines celebrate gift opening on Christmas Eve as do many Latin Americans. On the other hand, Americans open gifts on Christmas Day. As neither one was willing to bend on that tradition, they have settled on doing both. The children are allowed to open some of the gifts on the 24th following the Christmas meal and the remainder the following morning. As per Damon, his children enjoy having two days for gift opening.
Damon and Borroso have now been married for eight years and recently renewed their wedding vows. They have had three daughters together plus one girl from her previous marriage. By all accounts, the couple have one of Hollywood’s enduring marriages.
