Cupid’s Uses Gunshoot As Couple Finds Love

A couple enjoyed a casual friendship until the man, Matthew Web of LaFayette, Georgia accidentally shot Aubrey Mayo, age 24, in the leg. As she recovered, the friendship turned into love.

Matthew Tyler Webb, 23, often spent time with Aubrey Mayo. The two were up on the roof of Webb’s mothers home in LaFayette, Georgia when they saw some deer across the street. Webb took his gun and went hunting. It was dusk, around 5:30 p.m. so light was waning.

Mayo didn’t initially join Webb but decided to make her way down from the roof when she thought she heard Webb call her name. Not wanting to yell for him too loudly for fear of scaring off the deer, Mayo claims, “I was doing a half yell”. When Webb saw the bushes moving and heard rustling, he shot. Mayo fell to the ground.

Webb heard his friend screaming in pain and rushed to her side. He quickly wrapped her wound with his jacket and waited for paramedics.

After several days in the hospital, Mayo awoke to Webb holding onto a note in which he expressed his feelings for her. The two went from casual friendship to dating while she recovers.
