Man Left On Plane

On Friday December, 6 2013 a man was locked inside the cabin of a plane when he dozed off and fell asleep on his connecting flight to Los Angeles. The man’s name was Tom Wagner, a Louisiana boat captain, and he awoke in the dark cabin of the United Airlines flight he was riding and quickly realized that he was the only one on the plane. He stood up, walked to the door and after noticing that it was locked, he called his girlfriend whom of which thought he was joking.

His girlfriend then called United Airlines after realizing that he really was stuck on the plane. When she made the call the airline was convinced that the aircraft was checked before the crew disembarked the plane. Only when several maintenance workers entered the cabin a half an hour later, did Wagner finally get off the plane.

United offered Wagner a $250 voucher and a hotel room in Houston for the evening. The airline was in shock that something like this could have happened, and the routine sweep of the aircraft obviously was not done to be prevent such incidences from happening. Wagner himself was shocked that no one even bothered to wake him as they were leaving the plane. Next time Wagner flies he said he will get a better nights sleep.
