Police arrested Steven Ray Tickle, known on the show as “Tickle” at a convenience store and was released from the Danville City Jail later that day.
Last Thursday, March 7, police in Danville, Virginia (United States) arrested and charged Steven Ray Tickle, the 35-year-old star of Discovery Channel’s “Moonshiners” reality TV show, for public intoxication.
Danville police, following up on a tip, found Tickle sitting alone in a Charley’s Stop and Shop parking lot smelling of alcohol and holding an open alcoholic beverage. Tickle was taken to the Danville City Jail and then released.
According to the Washington Post, a court date has not yet been set and Tickle does not appear to have hired an attorney.
According to the Associated Press, Discovery Channel has not yet commented about the incident or returned media calls for additional information.
Given that “Moonshiners” is about the lives of people who make illegal alcohol, it is unknown if Discovery Channel will stop working with Tickle because of his arrest or if this incident will become part of a future episode.
