NBA Usher is Challenged to Dance Off by Fan
During a recent NBA basketball game between the renowned Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks, fans were given a hilarious show when a young fan decided to challenge an NBA usher to a dance off.
The 11 year old fan from Detroit, named Antwain Alexander, had been trying to get the dance camera to show him on the big screen all night long. Finally, it focused on him and he started dancing away with his best moves. As he started dancing, the camera then also focused on the 46 year old Shannon Sailes, an NBA usher, who started dancing as well. This sparked a dance off between the two Detroit residents, with the camera showing both dancers on the large center screen above the court. The crowd erupted in cheers and clapping as both Antwain and Shannon tried to show their best dance moves.
“He was like, ‘Mom, you will never believe. This was the time of my life,'” said Antwain’s mother, Tamisha Alexander.
The crowd seemed to cheer more for Antwain than they did for Shannon, however, the dance off was largely considered a draw or tie.
Sailes said the dance-off with Antwain was the first time he’s challenged a fan to step up.
“He was talking my crowd,” said Sailes. “So it was time for me to step up. This is my house, you know.”
The stadium eventually uploaded the dance off video on to their YouTube channel, and it has thus far attracted over 2.1 million views. It was rated as one of November 2013’s top viral videos.
“Overall, he’s a young man, talented, got so much going for himself,” Sailes said. “He’s the winner.”
