American Apparel Mannequins with Pubes Stun New Yorkers

New York City, New York – American Apparel, an edge-driven fashion company, has succeeded once again at drawing attention to their brand name. The store front in the Big Apple currently features several female mannequins with visible papilla and pubic hair. The life size dolls are modeling lingerie, but the fact that the public hair extends well past the borders of the panties has caused people to stop, ogle, gawk, and take pictures. It’s shock value at its best, and the company has been inundated with phone calls from the press eager to report on the story.

As it turns out, the mannequins might have started an important dialogue on where society has gone in terms of the human body. It can’t be argued that it is natural for hair to grow in the pubic region. Why then is it so shocking for that to be visibly modeled? Some speculate that it is the effect of two decades of cleanly shaven porn stars that have set an expectation among men to prefer unshaven nether regions. Others speculate that American Apparel may just be on the cutting edge of society once more and that pubic hair will return to the mainstream.
