Tractors are to be driven with care as their large rear tires coupled with smaller front tires can lead them to turn over when crossing a semi-steep slope. Deaths occur every now and then when a tractor overturns pinning the driver underneath its weight.

However, an unidentified man from Ottawa has lost his life in an ignominious way when his tractor overturned pinning him down in a slurry pond. Slurry ponds, which are also called manure ponds, are open septic tanks for animal waste. The waste products are collected into the pond and at some later time are used by farmers to fertilize their land.

Police were called to provide emergency assistance to a man whose tractor had overturned on his farm. The phone call came in at 10:00PM at night. The man was successfully pulled out from under the tractor and rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries ultimately cost him his life.

An investigation will be conducted to find out how the accident occurred. Given the time at which police were called, the man may have misjudged the road due to the lack of light. Being pinned in a manure pond is certainly not the way in which anyone would want to finish their mortal journey.
