Indianapolis Colts Punter Fined for Naked Tweet of Teammate

For Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee, it was supposed to be a moment of sharing the joy with fans following the teams’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in a wild 45-44 shootout in the AFC Wild Card Playoffs. However, the photograph that McAfee tweeted of place kicker Adam Vinatieri had a little more spice in it than expected with quarterback Andrew Luck partially exposed as he was either going to or returning from a shower.

McAfee didn’t even realize the partial nudity in the tweeted picture. However, his girlfriend phoned him shortly thereafter to let him know that the photograph was causing quite the stir. Thankfully, McAfee retained his post on the team, but he was fined for his inadvertent indiscretion. When asked how much he had to pay, he put the fine in the range of $1 to $3 million adding that the amount was appropriate for his actions.

As for Andrew Luck, he took the incident like a gentlemen and accepted McAfee’s genuine apology. The team has now moved past the photograph flap, but it is clear that the matter is still very fresh for McAfee. However, he’d better get his head straight for the division playoffs against a much tougher New England Patriots.
