Paul Walker Autopsy Released: Actor Died Of Traumatic & Thermal Injuries
The autopsy conducted by Los Angeles County Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner showed that the driver of the car, Roger, 38, died of multiple traumatic injuries. Paul, 40, died of “combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries.” Thermal injuries are defined as “damages to tissue from a heat source or photo-thermal reaction.”
The accident, which occurred on November 30, has created many questions and concerns about what happened at the time of the accident. One of the questions has to do with who was behind the wheel when the vehicle crashed. Another question is about whether the two men were involved in street racing. However, eyewitnesses did not see that occur.
The crash occurred after the two men were seen leaving from a charity event. A few moments later, local authorities responded to an accident on Rye Canyon Loop around 3:30 p.m.
The vehicle was engulfed in flames as the local fire department sought to extinguish the fire.
Two bodies were pulled out of the vehicle after the fire subsided.
The families of both men provided dental records, which will permit not only formal identification of the bodies, but also official word on whether Walker or Rodas was behind the wheel.
Toxicology results are still pending. The estimated completion time frame for toxicology will be six to eight weeks.
paul walker autopsy results were delayed
Earlier in the day, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said it completed the Paul Walker autopsy results, but would not release results of the autopsies and identifications until Wednesday.
When asked about the Paul Walker autopsy results, Lieutenant Fred Corral of the L.A. County Coroner’s Division told UsWeekly.com that the case has “been placed on security hold. No information is to be released on either decedent at this time.”
He added to HollywoodLife.com, “I’m not sure if the bodies have been identified or if the examinations were complicated. We’ve been extremely busy here. The only time we would put someone’s autopsy on security hold is at the request of the police department or at our own request. That simply means that the case has not been completed.”
Paul Walker’s family have requested that in lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations be made to support Reach Out WorldWide at Roww.org.
