According to the Daily Telegraph, popular television personality Piers Morgan has suffered a fractured rib.The incident occurred during a cricket game, the blame placed on Brett Lee for actually causing the injury. The mishap occurred during a session that sent a rapid, six ball assault at Morgan during an exhibition in Australia. Morgan went to a medical center in Sydney in order to have an examination, soon after tweeting a picture of his x-ray and the “breaking news” about his fractured rib.

“Just went to a Sydney medical centre to have the injuries inspected. ‘Ah, Mr Morgan,’ said the doctor, ‘Brett Lee, I presume?’ @BrettLee_58,” he tweeted to his 3.9 million followers.

“BREAKING (literally!) NEWS: Fractured rib confirmed by X-ray…thanks again @BrettLee_58.”

The injury took place when Brett Lee performed an aggressive move in the game known as bowling and directed it toward Piers Morgan’s body. The intent of bowling is to get the ball into the wicket, or net, in a similar fashion to a hockey puck or soccer ball in the net. Bowlers should not be aiming for the person guarding the net, yet this is what took place during the match with Piers Morgan. While Brett Lee is taking serious criticism from other players for his actions, Piers Morgan claims that he told Lee to play hard. The television host does not bear any ill will toward Lee, although he claims his ribs may have some issues.
