Among the denizens of gangbangers vying for initiation into the Bloods or the Crips, apparently there is at least one ne’er-do-well with an intense hatred for the disabled. What other explanation could there be for stealing a wheelchair ramp? Liverpool police are searching for a man who did just that.
The crime took place at platform 9 of the railway station located at Liverpool Lime street sometime in October. In an apparent nod to his state of mind at the time, the ramp-napper found solace in a local pub after the successful heist. Surveillance video shows the suspect, a white male appearing to be in his early forties, casually carrying the folded up ramp like a briefcase as if this is something he does every day.
We can only guess at what horrible things this man suffered at the hands of disabled persons in the years gone by to conjure up such feelings of ill will. Apparently there were no walkers to kick or old people to trip in the nearby vicinity, leaving the thief with no option but to satisfy his need for vengeance by taking away access to rail service.
