Yellow Dogs Band Members Killed by Rejected Musician

Three members of the Yellow Dogs musical band founded in Iran were gunned down in cold blood in New York City and murdered by a former fellow bandmate that they had recently asked to leave the group, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The musicians had allegedly caught fellow band member Raefe Ahkbar in the act of stealing and threw him out of the Yellow Dogs. Enraged, he later returned, armed with a semi-automatic gun with 20 rounds of ammunition. He first took out his revenge on the group’s 27-year old guitarist before proceeding to shoot the group’s singer and lead drummer as well. None of the three musicians survived.

Two other members of the group, another guitarist and the bassist, were also shot by Ahkbar but their injuries did not prove fatal. A neighbor reported hearing more than 40 gunfire shots erupt before calling for police. The gunman escaped to the roof of the warehouse where the shootings took place and ended his own life to avoid police capture. The manager for the Yellow Dogs characterized the conflict between Ahkbar and his former band mates as simply a petty squabble that got out of hand. Ahkbar allegedly had not spoken to any of the band members for several weeks prior to the shootings.
