A woman who made the listing, saying she would sell positive pregnancy test results for $25, insists she doesn’t care why someone would want to purchase the test results. But this isn’t the first time that a Craigslist seller has listed the unusual item in exchange for money.

Police officials say that offering positive pregnancy test results is becoming more common throughout the country. They report that there may be several reasons why someone would be interested in having positive pregnancy test results.

Positive pregnancy tests are being sold online so people can prank their friends, family and loved ones if they dare.

The products, which are adveritised as ‘used’ are also being sold on eBay for around $9(CAD)

One seller wrote in the description: “Have fun pranking friends and family with this positive test :).”

Another wrote: “It’s a fun humorous joke, but please don’t give anyone a heart attack.

“Both the seller and test manufacturer are not responsible for any negative outcomes from using this item.”

A woman may be involved in an illicit affair with a married man and she would use the test results as emotional blackmail to prevent the man from ending the relationship.

Other even less scrupulous individuals might want to show a boyfriend positive pregnancy test results as a way to induce the individual to propose marriage, while others who are already married and in troubled relationships might want positive pregnancy results to share with their spouse in a misguided attempt to try to save their relationship. Others may want positive pregnancy test results to use as practical jokes.
