Bride Interrupts Own Wedding for Quake Reporting Job

A young female reporter in China was getting ready to attend her own wedding when a massive earthquake struck the city of Ya’an. Not one to miss a big news scoop, the TV reporter, fully dressed in her wedding gown and veil, immediately went out into the streets to begin interviewing people for a news segment about the quake.

The reporter, identified as Chen Ying, was planning to get married later that day when she seized the opportunity, even though already dressed for her nuptuals, to report on the situation from the Holiday Plaza.

Even TV viewers were a bit stunned to see Ying appearing on camera to report the news dressed in a white gown and veil, but many praised her dedication to her job of reporting the news and called her “the most beautiful bride” in the world.

“I am standing at the Holiday Plaza. Fifteen minutes ago, a strong quake struck. But there haven’t been casualties in this area where I am standing,” she said in her piece to camera.
“Our residents in Ya’an have taken effective measures to prevent damages. I hope our city will be safe.”

Ms Chen, who appeared on air wearing her wedding dress and veil, went viral online, with many viewers calling her the “most beautiful bride in the world”.

Ying interviewed citizens for a full ten minutes prior to wrapping up her report in order to get to her own wedding ceremony. After she was married, she went back to the TV station in order to continue reporting on the quake. Since Saturday’s tremblor, more than two dozen individuals are missing, more than 180 people have been reported dead and more than 11,000 Chinese injured.
